One Week Old!

It's hard to believe that the puppies are a week old already! Seven of the eight are weighing in at over two pounds and gaining about two ounces a day. The smallest puppy is doing great, she is still smaller than the others but is still gaining at the same rate and able to push her way through the pile when she wants to.

We have stopped staying up all night with them as they are big enough that they are no longer in danger of being laid on and they are able to get around enough that they can find Maddie if they get hungry throughout the night. I do still get up a few times last night to check on them and take Maddie outside and they appear to be sleeping and eating well overnight.

Female - spot on head - 2lbs. 1 1/2oz.

Female - spot on shoulder - 2lbs. 3 1/4oz.

Female - spot on back - 2lbs.

Female - spot on rump - 2lbs. 2 3/4oz.

Female - spot on tail - 1lb. 7oz.

Male - spot on head - 2lbs. 6 3/4oz.

Male - spot on shoulder - 2lbs. 1 1/4 oz.

Male - spot on back - 2lbs. 5 1/4oz.

I thought it would be cute to take a picture of the puppies in an antique wheelbarrow that sits on my porch, however the puppies didn't really cooperate today and just wanted to cuddle with each other. I think I will try to take the picture again when they are two weeks old and perhaps I will have better luck. Here are a few of the pictures where you can see their little faces
